Race day is Sunday.
I trained for 12 weeks: running, speed work and strength exercises. All I have left to do is rest, stretch and run the streets of Manhattan!
Here’s the debut of my race outfit: shorts, a long sleeves shirt and my American Cancer Society t-shirt. From the beginning, for me, this race has been about cancer – raising awareness and finding a cure. By wearing my American Cancer Society t-shirt, I will continue to broadcast these messages through Central Park, down 7th Avenue into Times Square, across 42nd Street to the West Side Highway, and all the way down to Wall Street.
You can watch the New York City Half Marathon on Sunday at 7:00AM on ABC7 or stream it live on www.7online.com. Also, you can download the United Airlines NYC Half Mobile App to track my race! Look for me in wave two! Wave two’s anticipated start time is 7:45AM.
My goal is to beat my personal best: 1:56:45.
Finally, and most importantly, the incredible support of my family, friends, donors and cure crusaders helped raise $1,130.99! My American Cancer Society race team has raised over $216,000! We are helping the American Cancer Society achieve its mission to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Wish me luck, and stay tuned for my race recap next week!
